Our Mission
Our mission is to excite the senses and to open eyes towards the unlimited possibility of nature. This should be the first step in the students journey of discovery. Weeks of discussion will follow back in the classroom as textbooks and websites take on new life with the knowledge gained from spending time in nature’s classroom!
Virginias’ Outdoor Classroom is nestled in the scenic Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia, surrounded by wooded hills and picturesque creeks. We are proud to offer customized environmental education programs, boasting over 20 classes to choose from in our 3, 4, or 5 day programs. Our interdisciplinary curriculum of Outdoor Education, Environmental Science, and Leadership aligns with Virginia and West Virginia’s curriculum as well as Next Generation Science Standards. Programs are tailored to your preference for 4th through 8th grade students at our stunning location.
